Review of The Blue Max (1966) by Keith T — 24 Sep 2008
I hadn't seen this for years. It is a REALLY good film, with some arial combat footage that is only really bettered in "The Battle of Britain". The open-cockpit and up-close duels with "just" machine guns are so much more personal than the high tec missile fights in Top Gun!
That the lead role is a such a dark, driven and somewhat unattractive character gives it an extra edge.
