Review of The Blob (1988) by Dan F — 14 Jun 2007

I found this to be an enjoyable movie. I watched the original 1958 version and to be honest I didn't like it. The problem with the original is that it wasn't scary for me, mainly because the characters were RUNNING away from something that moved slower than a snail.

This remake, on the other hand, I found to be pretty good. Story was nice, acting was decent and sometimes good.

The blob itself was a major improvement. For one thing, the characters actually had to run to get away from it. The death scenes were more gruesome than the original (watching the bodies inside the blob being digested was a nice touch).

Now, the story is a bit fantacy, making the movie a little less believable.

In my opinion, this was a great remake.
