Review of The Blob (1988) by Bryan W — 24 Jun 2008
It's a common thing when you feel that the effects sequences take up 75% of the budget and production schedule, but it's a rare occasion when the rest of the movie comes close to competing. Okay, so it's not Network or even The Descent, but the eighties government paranoia hits its stride and the caricature characters actually manage to choke out their cliche dialogue with aplomb.
You also have to respect any movie in which they have no sympathy for major characters or children.
