After checking out the original as well, I expected a rehash of the material. Instead, I found the key characters from the original unimportant to this version... Furthermore, the blob had an explanation to its origin which was cool.
The effects were also pretty cool... but at the end of the day, Jelly ain't that scary - even if it does have tentacles!
