Review of The Blob (1958) by Steve K — 07 Aug 2009
The 50's were rife with a lot of movies no one ever has to see; they have not aged well and often weren't good to begin with. Aside from sweet opening credits, a cheeky but rather enjoyable theme song, Aneta Corsaut (who resembles someone I know), and young Steve McQueen sharpening his teeth before his big comeuppance two years later in "The Magnificent Seven," there's not much to set the original "Blob" apart from most 50's movies.
But if you're looking for that clean-cut, cliche piece of the 1950's, it probably doesn't get much better.
