A dull, emotionless episodic retelling of a group of potentially interesting delinquents, The Bling Ring merely goes skin-deep into its characters' crimes, consequently feeling more like a soulless, detached and ultimately pointless documentary, squandering any promise it may hold; What could've been a reflective, self-referential social commentary ended up instead being an exploitation of a real-life crime, of little depth and of little substance.
