Review of The Bling Ring (2013) by Guido S — 20 Oct 2013

After seeing the very similar movie Spring Breakers, I was hesitant to go into this one. Emma Watson, Taissa Farmiga, Israel Broussard and Katie Chang play a bunch of image obsessed teenagers in LA who break into famous people's homes after finding out they are out of town filming or partying. They have no trouble getting in and out with tons of clothes, jewelry and other items they can grab. Eventually, they get caught on camera and are found out from being too boastful of things.

This could have been so much better though. There is almost zero character develpment, it basically goes from robbery to robbery to partying to robbery up until they are caught. You don't really get to learn anything about them. The story is still interesting and I liked the performances, just wanted a little more depth to the story.
