Review of The Bling Ring (2013) by Giovanni M — 17 Feb 2015
What could have been a great satire on American lust for fame is a shallow pool of unexplored opportunities. Not a single character is truly fleshed out, in fact they're all one-dimensional. This all is intentional, but it just doesn't seem to work because this is such an interested story and you want to learn more about these characters.
It has a few things going for it, the cinematography is great and the few attempted satirical jabs are decent, but overall The Bling Ring is made of plastic.
