Review of The Blair Witch Project (1999) by Adam K — 15 Feb 2014
I really wanted to let myself get taken away by BWP. The beginning was really promising, but as the walk through the woods went on, the constant fighting and yelling became grating and kind of jarred me out of the scare zone.
I still loved it conceptually-the Andy Goldsworthy nature art was really great and I was impressed by the way the actors responded to the unique directing. Something didn't quite click, unfortunately, and I got only a bit of a scare at the end.
And as neat as the concept is, it's much more of a vehicle for scares than the Shyamalan movies I've been watching lately, which are all about the story.
