Review of The Black Pirate (1926) by Benjamin S — 18 Jun 2008
A nice, lush production with a great sword fight and grade A swashbuckling. A great example of well-placed action beats and plotting, with some nice melodrama and stunts thrown in. A potion perfected in Errol Flynn films, of course, but even Flynn's speed doesn't match Fairbanks' physicality.
B+.
