Review of The Black Hole (1979) by Ian H — 29 Nov 2007
I watched this again recently and was really surprised how the visuals still impress. I'd also forgotten how intimidating Maximillian is as the villianous sidekick, he's very cool and all the more unsettling for it.
The flaws are there for all to see: some hammy acting; clumsy dialogue and a psychedelic acid-trip of an ending, but the production design, the creepy atmosphere throughout and the score are all top notch.
And what a theme tune! The theme is definitely one of my movie favourites, I defy anyone for to be moved by it.
