Review of The Black Balloon (2008) by Steve S — 08 Feb 2010
Amazing film. Its about a family that has a autistic son and how they have to manage living their lives with him and making it a family unit. I have to say the best movie I have seen for a long time. There are some eye opening scenes in this movie and some really touching parts.
The frustration that the family especially the brother has about his autistic brother is soo well portrayed. You just feel sometimes that you wish u can rewind life and start again.
But the father had a line in the movie when the brother asked if he wished that Charlie was normal. The father said. "You look after your own" This line really touched home for me. You could say this line could be said to the fathers that cope out and leave their family cause things get too hard for them to handle. The grass in not always greener.
A very beautifully written and preformed film and all people that were part of this masterpiece should be applauded for their fine work.
Recommend this for everyone too watch.
Cherish what you have.
