Review of The Birth of a Nation (1915) by Ripö M — 21 Apr 2010
Although it has a teeth-grinding message about the heroism of the Ku Klux Klan, there's no denying that it's wonderful technically. Dramatic close-ups and epic battles take turns and everything just kept me gripped in front of the screen.
It's a shame that that technicality went into a morally dubious film.
