Review of The Birth of a Nation (1915) by Brian C — 10 Apr 2010
I wholeheartedly enjoyed the heavy well crafted, explosive action and found several "unrealistic" incidents of the movie (slaves cheering on the confederates who were fighting to keep them enslaved) ridiculously hilarious.
Birth of a Nation is morally appalling beyond description, with its over the top racial ideology and pseudo patriotic music, so while you may disagree with its message, BON stands among the few films that thoroughly shocks and stuns its audience.
