Review of The Birth of a Nation (1915) by Morpheus O — 11 Jul 2010
I didn't enjoy this film at all and I am somewhere between amazed and disgusted that I actually managed to sit thru the entire thing.
The worst thing about the film is clearly the historical revisionism that is rampant throughout the entire film. The acting was dismal and downright horrid, in particularly in moments when the actors were happy and laughing when they were supposed to be exactly the opposite; and when they were crying and sad in moments when they, again, were supposed to be exactly the opposite!
A full breakdown to come, eventually.
