Review of The Birth of a Nation (1915) by Kostas Z — 15 Mar 2014
Fully realizing the reason why so many viewers feel disgusted -we should never "get used" to the fact that this much racism has or is being a recurring element of western expression-, I am compelled to a 5-star rating due to the films pioneering role in the art of cinema.
Even though I couldn't disagree more to the view that Griffith has, the other elements of the movie make up for the hateful and historically incorrect content. Therefore I apologize to all those who believe that the audience rating in RT should be an indicator of conformity with the content of a movie.
