Review of The Big Year (2011) by Priya P — 22 Mar 2012
It's hard to think of a time when I've thoroughly enjoyed a movie more than 'The Big Year'. Albeit this movie did not have outlandish CGI and gross sophomoric humor that most reviewers wished for.
.. but it did afford Steve Martin, Jack Black and Owen Wilson an opportunity to 'search for something' as simple as enjoying what is taken for granted in today's world: the preservation of nature and its little creatures.
And most moviegoers take it for granted that movies must have sex, violence and action to constitute a well-made movie. Gorgeous location photography, great chemistry between the actors, and a perfect mix of emotional well-being and camaraderie at the camera-ready.
I loved it, and I would like to now go out and have my own "Big Year" someday!
