Review of The Big Year (2011) by John H — 16 Sep 2017
I have to admit the premise didn't interest me all that much until a couple of people told me how much they liked it. A rather inane story comes alive by a little (mostly) friendly competition, the enjoyment of God's creation and the assessment of what is really important in life.
This could have been a big flop, but for a simple, pleasant story and terrific performances by Steve Martin, Owen Wilson and Jack Black; though I've not been a big fan of the latter two, I must say they did a great job.
Fun!
