Review of The Big Steal (1949) by Regan N — 09 Sep 2007
Mitchum and Greer are great together yet again. I definitely would have liked to see Lizabeth Scott in it though. The experts have called it fiesta noir and compared it to screwball comedy and romantic comedy.
It's definitely an odd mix. It's fun to see how far from the standard formula noir can be taken and still be recognizable and appreciated as noir.
