Review of The Big Sleep (1946) by Chris S — 25 Sep 2008
There is too much going on in this film, a lot of unnecessary subplots and characters, and until the end, the audience will be left confused at what has just happened in the entire film. The filmmakers were lucky enough that they had Bogart and lovely Bacall in the film even if the story is quite ridiculous and confusing.
Who could guess that Geiger was illegally selling porn in that bookstore and that Carmen was posing for him when the film is so subtle and supposedly clean?
