Simply magnificent, even if the plot makes little sense it doesn't matter when you have the quality of Bogart and Bacall, superb dialogue and direction and it all looks incredilble. Martha Vickers deserves credit too for stealing several scenes - 'She tried to sit in my lap when I was still standing up', Marlow quips.
