Review of The Big Sleep (1946) by Joel A — 18 Oct 2013
A very stylish, fast talking sassy detective movie that was directed perfectly by Howard Hawks. Simply the story of Private Detective trying to crack a case with 2 conniving sisters.
Both actress' Martha Vickers & Lauren Bacall are great but it's Bogey's film he is great talent & just owns the film dropping of charisma.
This film a confusing in parts but the dialogue is so snappy & sparkling it keeps you involved. I love the detective films & this is one of the best...a stylish film.
