Review of The Big Short (2015) by João Miguel R — 06 Mar 2016
The Big Short is a great movie that gives a nice ideia of the 2008's bankruptcy and financial crisis. I will recommend because it has a nice essemble cast.. they all do a fantastic job specially Carell and Bale, and they are all acting in top notch form.
I understand that they got rich when the system failed, they all predicted that and they were smart. And thats the conclusion I make of the film. How? I dont know. To much (almost literally) technospeak, economic terms, financial terms, etc.
A complete emptiness for me. It was extremely technical and I didn't understand anything. Confusing. And that was a shame, because it's a very interesting good movie and I was unable to follow - 2 hours long.
Nevertheless, maybe you get the picture, if you have some financial background, If you dont..... It's a jump in the dark.
