Review of The Big Short (2015) by Aman A — 07 Mar 2016
This movie, I thought, would be funny. I was wrong. I had not seen the trailer. That kind of put me off from the start. Ignoring that, the movie was fun and fast. I loved the intense pace - it seemed similar to the actual banking environment.
It cartoonized the bankers that did invest in mortgage backed securities a bit much though to a point that felt silly. Bale played his character beautifully. The eye was mesmerizing. I also loved the pain of actually being right that the economy will fail and making money off it - whether that was true or not.
I think the movie was too biased for my liking but still quite a fun, fast look at a crisis that destroyed people, companies, America and eventually the world.
