Review of The Big Short (2015) by Gabriel C — 22 Oct 2016
Superb horror film that puts a heavy damper on optimists who think there is hope for humanity. Its 8 years since the financial melt down and we are reminded at the end of the film that CDOs are surfacing again.
Deregulation of the financial sector has been an utter failure because the common people suffer. While bankers would deny full responsibility because they didn't put a gun to their commoner´s heads to enjoy short term dream homes or buy mortgage bonds that would end in financial loss.
........ Dismantling the Glass-Stegal Act was the biggest crime and I hold Bill Clinton completely responsible..... It had led to the disasters of unbridled greed... yet what had Obama done? Nothing to reinstall the Glass-Stegal Act.
Hence the vicious cycle of Wall Street ripping off main street will continue and get away Scott free. Wall Street, the US government are a bunch of crooks, are fraudulent and amoral.
