Review.
This is a typical so called guy?s movie but I was quite entertained through out that I can?t help but recommend it. I think its absolute absurdity is why I liked this film so much. Wahlberg is the perfect man to play Melvin Smiley and you cant help but feel sorry for him because everyone in his life walks all over him. The action although cheesy and low budget was still put together with thought which allowed you to flow with the movie as opposed to groaning in disappointment. The movie although not quite laugh out loud funny, really has some amusing moments that added to the character of the film. The supporting cast of Crunch, Keiko Nishi, and Jiro Nishi made the humor quite enjoyable. Lou Diamond Phillips does a great job of an amateur hit man and his character is so over the top that you kind of buy into it. A movie store fight scene is the best of the film and the guy playing the movie store clerk is easily the high light of comedy in this film. Need something easy to watch with a little but of gun play and a little bit of comedy this is a perfect choice. Also it never hurts when one of the characters in your movie is starring in a film called Taste the Golden Spray.
T Factor + If you found the action scenes better then I did this movie could score higher on the movie scale.
T Factor ? If you thought the plot to outrageous and dumb this movie could score lower on the rating scale.
If you liked this film reel recommendations: Bad Company, or Die Hard series.
