Review of The Big Heat (1953) by Nancy R — 27 Nov 2007

WOW. I LOVED this movie. This movie stirred reactions within me that movies today haven't been able to do for a long time. There are many surprises in this movie and lots of violence as a family man, feeling the pressure of his job weighing down on him, begins to change into a hard boiled bad ass, as the pressure trickles down from his soldiers and onto his family's.

A story of loss, and of revenge, with several shocking moments that will keep your eyebrows uplifted in surprise for the majority of the movie. Of course near the end things are taking out of the main characters hand, and the movie ceases to be as clean and precise at this point (which is the reason I didn't receive a perfect score), the movie as a whole is still very damn good.
