Review of The Big Heat (1953) by Doc M — 18 Jan 2009
What started off as a cookie cutter rebel-cop drama soon turns into a scathing noir that is carried by the performances of Glenn Ford, Gloria Grahame, and Lee Marvin.
The film reminds me of a well written Raymond Chandler novel, with Ford playing a less embittered but quicker to anger version of Philip Marlowe.
