Review of The Big Heat (1953) by Paul Z — 19 Mar 2011
Film noir at its best. Beautiful cinematography, fantastic use of shadows and lighting, a solid script and some great performances. Gloria Grahame is not a typical noir femme faitale, but she brings charm and an undeniable spark to the role.
The whole film is wonderfully constructed, keeping you on your toes while still fitting all together.
