Review of The Big Country (1958) by Jeff B — 08 Dec 2012
Pretty entertaining western from 1958 starring Gregory Peck as a man who comes to a ranching town and doesn't seem to fit in. The town sort of has a civil war going on between two rival families and Peck wants to keep the peace.
Great scenery and very good performances. Burl Ives won an Oscar for his roles as the leader of the rival family, it's a deserved win but I wish he had more screen time. The score is a big highlight, it's extremely addicting.
Oh, and now I can laugh harder at Ren and Stimpy's "Happy Happy, Joy Joy.
