Review of The Big Country (1958) by John R — 27 Nov 2013
Much enjoyed this time. Though not the biggest fan of Charlton Heston or Gregory Peck, what shines through in this film is the script. A good story that reflects the flaws from which we all suffer. No one in this story comes off as being perfect, even Peck's character James McKay could've handled himself better.
But, that's the whole point. Great acting, characters, sets, and costuming. Couldn't help but notice there are some fine horses, one being a particularly good actor, on display as well. Thoroughly enjoyed.
Raised by one star.
