Review of The Big Chill (1983) by Steve S — 30 Jul 2012
While I did enjoy the theme of friends reuniting and being forced to deal with their past after the death of a close friend and genuinely enjoyed the film it felt slightly uneven, even Kevin Kline's accent seemed to falter.
I thought the overall narrative was rather crudely handled as well leaving out scenes that we as the audience should have been let in on(some are addressed in the DVD re-release). The impeccable soundtrack is obviously the big draw to the Big Chill, full of classic Mo-town and rock and soul classics that are towering monoliths of the pop cannon.
