Review of The Big Bounce (2004) by Rick E — 02 Sep 2004
[size=2]Owen Wilson's slacker persona seems to unintentionally permeate the film with the entire cast phoning in their performances. Sara Foster may be easy on the eyes, but she would do well to invest some of the money she made on this film into additional acting classes. Morgan Freeman and Gary Sinise are utterly wasted in throwaway roles and Charlie Sheen is....well....Charlie Sheen. The story is disjointed, devoid of any sense of flow or rhythm. When the only positive comment you can make about a film is in regard to the scenery, you know there's a problem. The Big Bounce is a big flop!
The Big Bounce is out now 1.85:1 Widescreen or 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen and 5.1 DD. Bonus features include a laid-back behind the scenes featurette, an interesting behind the camera look at the process of filming the surfing scenes, and a brief featurette depicting pro surfers shredding Hawaii's pipeline.
