Review of The BFG (2016) by Steve W — 12 Jul 2016
Based on the book, The BFG is an expensive and grand visual feast. The performances are good, but the movie is very slow, and gets very predictable in the third act. It glosses over the child kidnapping aspect of the movie so the villains aren't as dastardly, and the movie loses that dark tone so the stakes are lower.
The movie is well made though, so The BFG is a good easy going family film, but not a new classic.
