Review of The BFG (2016) by Byron B — 23 Apr 2018
Many of Roald Dahl's books have been adapted for the big screen by this point. Back in the 80s the UK produced an animated feature of this same story. Spielberg gets back to a fantastic tale aimed at kids.
The Big Friendly Giant is good clean fun, a story from a more innocent time, But it is not too anything that could make it truly exciting. Not too funny. Not too scary. Not too violent. Not too deeply heart-tugging.
Even with the BFG being a tinkerer and collector of dreams, not too whimsical either. It is a bit of a bore.
