Overly sentimental, overly long, and overly patriotic but it made me cry. It was nice to see a film about WWII made in the 40s that focused on the aftermath of the War and the reality of life for veterans returning home to America.

About the same length as The Deer Hunter, another Best Picture winner about veterans adjusting to life at home after a war, but I actually liked this one a lot better. The Best Years of Our Lives is a nostalgic, romantic look at American history that plucked my heartstrings masterfully!
