Review of The Best Years of Our Lives (1946) by Darryl J — 30 Jan 2008
With the same cinematographer as Citizen Kane, this movie is shot perfectly with Greg Tolland's signature deep focus shots. William Wyler's directing was also unusually great.
The three storylines were all very interesting but the most affecting for me was Fred and Peggy's. All the actors were great. Harold Russell was new to the acting game in this movie but he pulled off his performance without over exaggerating his handicap which he could have easily done.
