Review of The Best Years of Our Lives (1946) by Min K — 01 Jun 2008
A very beautiful and moving film that boldly explores contemporary issues for its time (and ours). An inquisitive look into what life is like for three different WWII veterans - how the times changed, finding a decent job, living with disability, dealing with society's opinions about war.
And all of this wrapped up with romance, humor and some great music and camera shots. Where most war movies end after the battles are fought, this film brings the audience into the complicated readjustment of soldiers AFTER the war.
Well written and edited.
