Review of The Best Years of Our Lives (1946) by Alvin Y — 19 Sep 2010
Well, â??The Best Years of our Livesâ?? is now I think one of the best Best Pictures in the history of cinema. The running time of 170 minutes shows us about these 3 war veterans about their life after they come home.
I just simply love how they told the characters story so that we can understand and captured as well their dreams and future as they go older. This is probably the best storytelling that a movie ever attempted to tell by also telling us about how these war veterans are being traumatized by their experiences, like for example in the film â??The Deer Hunterâ??.
Of Course, all of the actors in here were terrific by their performances and most of all the directing, photography, soundtrack just works well in this film. Now, I think this is to be considered one of the best films of the 1940's or should I say one of the best films of all time, that's why it take home the oscars for Best Picture, Actor, Supporting Actor, Director.
