Review of The Best Years of Our Lives (1946) by Steve G — 05 Feb 2011
The most beautiful film ever created? Very possibly. A heart-wrenching masterpiece. An emotional epic. Perhaps the most unforgettable cinematic experience of my life. THE definitive post-war movie ever made.
As significant a historical film as has ever been made during & about what was arguably the most pivotal era in U.S. history. The performances were all perfectly fitting. Especially Harold Russell.
Though Teresa Wright's character was a little bit of a pain at times. Otherwise, I can't lavish enough praise. This film is a textbook example of how a film should be made.
