Review of The Best Years of Our Lives (1946) by Ryan D — 08 Dec 2005
Wow, I was pleasantly surprised by three of these films which I didn't necessarily expect to be so great. I'm talking about Ghost World, Ladies in Lavender, and The Magnificent Ambersons. Why? Well, I thought the first two would be good, but I found them to be truly worthy of a 4-Star rating. As for "Ambersons", I was surprised, because I really disliked Citizen Kane, so I thought I might hate "Ambersons" just as much, but it turns out that I loved this. It was much better than "Kane" in my opinion.
