Review of The Best Offer (2013) by Gregory V — 07 Sep 2013
This film! Lifeless. I kept waiting. Where is it? What is it? Where are we? A city where everyone has a different accent. Nothing came. No humour. No warmth. It took way too long to get going and it could have used that time to build the city, the art world, beautiful surroundings and the accompanying lifestyles as key characters.
Both Rush and Sutherland, completely wasted and irrelevant in his role, should have been more eccentric. Geoffrey Rush was one of my favourite actors. I actually left the theatre thinking he can't act and the rest of the cast had lost their way to Midsomer Murders.
