Review of The Best Offer (2013) by Dave C — 04 Aug 2018
This is a small film about an auctioneer and art expert who becomes caught up in layers of fraud and deceit.
Geoffrey Rush plays Geoffrey Rush very well and the architecture and art is fabulous.
The secret of the story is almost too obvious but as such stays out of mind although there seem a couple of inconsistencies, or perhaps that is intended.
It's certainly worth seeing and for a film that seems to have appeared without fanfare, very worth seeing.
I expect the European tourist markets to improve instantly.
If you liked Don't Look Now and ever spent late student nights watching Bunuel, you'll be very at home here.
