It was a moving story and I'm a huge fan of Sparks' movies, but the acting was lacking. I didn't feel the chemistry between the characters. There seemed to be something missing. Maybe the flash backs broke the momentum too much.
James Marsden was great, but I wasn't impressed by anyone else. I gave it 4 stars because in the end I was crying.
