Review of The Best of Me (2014) by Maria C — 01 Feb 2016
Snorrrre....I read the book and thought, meh, ok, kind of ok. Annoying at time but I persevered. Nicholas Sparks other books have been quite the tear jerker. The movie starts off like the book, then totally deviates from it to the point one wonders if the director just decided to throw ideas into a hat and pull them out on the day of filming.
The lack of a common thread, apart from poor old Tuck, who to my mind is not portrayed correctly is pathetic. In the book there are two main issues which tie this story together. Indeed they are the MAIN issues in the story plotline, but alas, in this movie none of that is there.
It was a totally snore worthy movie. It took me two evenings to actually finish watching. Nothing cohesive about this movie at all. Even if you did not read the book, it makes little sense.
