Review of The Bells of St. Mary's (1945) by Andrea C — 17 Dec 2007
Interesting, and the classic nature is undeniable. It had some sentimentality, and the turnaround of Mr B. was a bit sudden and seemed relatively unprovoked. But a lot of it was surprisingly real and fleshy, compared to most movies of the day, which revolve around Disney-ish characters and a happy-go-lucky ending, with some songs thrown in.
