Review of The Beaver (2011) by Jared S — 06 Oct 2011
With the "The Beaver", you either buy the premise or you don't. I bought it. It is a heartfelt look at a man who tries to find his way out of serious mental illness using a hand puppet. Much darker than, though containing elements similar to, "Lars and the Real Girl.
" Mel Gibson is all-in with this movie; he gives a superb performance. If you can set aside your personal feelings about the actor, you will find this to be an excellent movie. Recommended for adults.
