Review of The Beaver (2011) by Steve P — 24 Oct 2011
The film is about depression with some good laughs. Mel Gibson plays the depressed Walter Black who becomes attached to a puppet which he uses as a way of communicating with work colleagues, family and friends, although it doesn't always work out as expected.
Jodie Foster plays his long suffering wife who accepts Walters new found friend, but really wishes that Walter would seek proper medical help. Unfortunately Walter realizes that his puppet friend is not the answer to his deep seated problem and takes drastic action.
.. Good movie with quite an original storyline. Produced by Jodie Foster.
