It had it's comedic moments, but overall it's a story about depression and mental illness...so if you're looking for a comedy this isn't it. Mel Gibson did an amazing job acting, and the directing by Jodie Foster was excellent.
The ending was surprising in a way yet the audience still gets the typical happy Hollywood finale.
