Review of The Beaver (2011) by Barry S — 25 Feb 2012
You will find yourself both loving and hating this movie. Read the reviews. No one really seems to know what to make of it. At the same time it is a portrayal of someone in the dismal depths of depression with just the slightest glimmer of hope.
It's like "life's a beach and then you get sunburn." One of the marks of a good movie is that it makes you think. I think that I hope no one I know never, ever gets anything like this depression.
Also, I don't think I want to buy this or see it again. It should be required viewing for anyone doing a clinical study of depression.
